Ideal Classroom setting:
My pedagogy includes high expectations of all students, no matter where they come from. Students will also be doing more inquiry based lessons considering the students are younger. Many lessons will incorporate an art of some sort, whether it be coloring or singing, the students will be involved in the lesson and using their brain in many ways. There will also be brain breaks often, to help the students move around after a lesson where they sat for 20-30 minutes. Since students are coming from lower income families, all materials for the lesson will be provided and all lessons will be finished in class. As teachers, we never know what is going on at home, and where the students go, so everything needed will stay in the classroom. However, there will be a sheet for homework, and a book given every week to the students to take home for the week. The students can choose to do the worksheets given, or there are different options such as "tell someone at home what you did in school today" or "ask someone how their day was." The student will be required to bring this back on Friday's, and as long as 5 of the options are filled out (one for everyday), there will be a reward, or a consequence for those who did not do their homework. Finally, although I am a math major, one of my main objectives everyday will be to promote reading engagement. I want my students to love reading and will do so by introducing books that I am reading and putting them in the classroom library when I am finished. I also will have book clubs in my classroom where the students can collaborate on certain books.
Throughout my college experience, I have learned how to make sure my students are learning, and engaging in lessons. I will have a classroom management plan set up where there will be clips or magnets that the students can move up or down throughout the day depending on their behavior. Also, I really enjoy the website classroom dojo, not only does it give/take away points to students based on behavior, but parents can also be involved. The teacher can post pictures of the students working, or parties that are happening, and parents can see. Also, the teacher can communicate with parents as long as they are signed up.

- Diverse
- Lower income, more than half of the school has free or reduced lunch
- All subjects will be taught throughout the day
