The economic mystery was a great way for me to understand how to come up with and deal with real life situations that have to do with decision making. It also was a good way for me to become creative an find myself making up scenarios I could give to my students some day to have them figure out.

The CDVs in the news was one of my favorite assignments that I did in class. This gives students a way to look through the news and read through articles about what is happening in the world today, and pick out different parts of government within it. This is a way for students to understand the core democratic values in everyday life.

The geo diary is a great tool for students to do at the very beginning of the school year so the students and the teacher can get to know each other. It also familiarizes the students with all five themes of geography. In this activity students take pictures of places that are in their lives and describe them using the themes. They also give when and where the picture was taken along with the cardinal direction the camera was facing.
